A little of this and that! Random!!!!!!

The pictures in this blog are a random collection of places and things we've done this week. Some day I will learn to put them in the right order rather than the end at the first. we have just parked our car in the underground parking at the apartment. It's the end of a busy Saturday. We each have our own garage door and can lock it, use it for storage along with putting the car there. Our suitcases are all in the garage, which is a good thing as our apartment is about 900 sq. ft and six huge suitcases take up a lot of room.

We have our apartment about 2 blocks away from Lake Malta which is a huge outdoor rec area, a ski lift with year round skiing, it's some kind of a rubberized slope and all ssorts of skiers come barreling down the slope.

The ski lift and hill are right on the lake.

The trees are beautiful now with all sorts of yellows, golds and reds.

This is the lake that I power-walk around. there are all sorts of runners, bikers, walkers and skaters etc.

The lake is about 5 miles around. There are no boats with motors but lots of kyaking and scull racing. The University uses it for competitive scull racing.
There are kyak racing clubs. There is a huge seating area where out door concerts are organized during the summer months.

We are ready to spend part of the afternoon at IKEA. We are looking for a bed for one of our Elders. He is sleeping on a ski slope of a bed. IKEA has seen us on a regular basis as we are trying to get our Branch refurbished now that we have it moved to a new location.

I love IKEA. It has everything. Why oh why don't they have one in Las Vegas??????

This is one of the many monuments in the many parks here and all over Poland marking a significant event in Poland's turbulant historry. ON Day of the Dead, candles and flowers were put at all the monuments as well as all the grave sites.

The parks are so lovely at this time of year.

There are parks, some larger than others, all over the city, some are in the medians of the streets and maybe only 50 yards across.

There is always a statue comemorating something or in memory of someone.

This police department is right accross the street from our new Chapel location. We shouldn't havee much trouble with crime.

Here is the front of our new Chapel with our temporary sign. The roof is being repaired, thus the scaffolding.

This is the same lake, and I'm out for an early morning power-walk.

These guys are out for a morning workout as well. It was cold that morning about 38 degrees.

This is where all the kayaks are stored and the docks where they are put in the water.

This is the top of the lake on a bridge before going down in the dock area for the kyaaks and starting down the other side on my way back to the apartment.

Elder Buckner and Elder Plumb at the Branch in the kitchen trying to finish putting together a cupboard with doors for storage. The cupboard is from IKEA, of course.

Ross and thge Eldders in our YSA/FHE/ Institute/ classroom.

On our way to Warsaw for Senior conference, early in the morning.

Judi Nielosn and Sister Jensen from Alpine Utah.

Elder and Sister Peck are the ones who replaced us in the office.

Elder and Sister Paxton serving in Germany in the CES program. He helped me out so much when I was trying to get district money straightened out for YSA.

We were so excited as we had just received Primaary song books that had been translated into Polish. A former senior couple, the Moons were responsible for this. Thaat will be a great help to these small Branches.

It's time for a little breakfast before everyone departs for the sightseeing trip and we depart for Poznan as it will be our first Sunday since Ross was called as the Branch President. So, we will not be making the trip to see the sights. From left to right, Elder simons, Ross, E. McGtath, E. Peck, President Nielson, E. Jensen, E. Paxton, E. Tarasevich.

Here is the tour guide and one of our favorite YSAs, Dominik.

At the Branch on an eventful night when one of our sister missionaries, S. Leppenan got locked into the bathroom and she had to jump out the window because noone could hear her as she was on the other side of the chapel. then Ross had to climb back up the ladder to turn off the light and lock the window before coming back out. Pretty agile!!!!

so, Ross did a pretty good job of breaking and entering, even in his senior years.

We are all visiting one of our few members. From left to right, S. Leppanen, E. Buckner, E. Plum, Ross, S. MccAdams, Bozena Skowronska and me.

At the end of a busy afternoon.

That is the end of this blog. Many random pictures in no particular order but it shows a very small amount of what we are doing. Every minute is busy and all is well in Zion!! The Church is true, even in Poznan!!!!!
