Las Vegas

Study as we might, there seems to be one interruption after another. First it's the doorbell with a box, (for Jean, of course) from the j.jill company; next the dog, (Roxy) wants in on the "fun;" then the land phone rings followed by one of the cell phones; then the other dog, Shiloh has to come in the room to check us out; then it's time for our Skype language lesson from Provo and it's the dog, (s) again and so it goes. We have quickly figured out that we either go into lock down or to the motel, (which was my choice.....). But be all of this as it may in between Jean's totally full days, my employment, our Church work and working little by little each day to get the 200 things done necessary to leave all of what we have behind for 18 months, we are somehow moving ahead, albeit at a snail's pace for the most of it.

Getting Excited!

Jean and I received our mission call on May 18, 2010 to the Poland Warsaw Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We ARE excited. We are LESS excited about our ability to learn the Polish language, but we do believe in the blessing of good tutors ... coupled with an anticipated gift of tongues.

Wealso are excited about serving and working with President and Sister Nielson, who arrived in Poland on June 30 to begin their three-year service as mission president. We report Oct. 4.

For the next three months, we'll be wrapping things up here in Vegas and learning as much as we can about Poland, the people, and the language.
